LOCH, Terance Robert 'Terry', of Thorold passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the St. Catharines Hospital. Terry was born on July 3, 1965 to parents Thelma and the late Nick Loch (1997). Terry was the loving and dedicated father of Bradley, who he would always call a friend as well as his son. He is survived by his siblings, John (Tammy), Karen, Sheryl (Wilson) and their children Tyler, Griffin, Alysha, Nicholas and Laurissa. He worked in construction at Mister Renovator for over 25 years, with his brother (John), after inheriting the business from his father (Nick). Anyone who knew Terry knew that he was entertaining, helpful and reliable. He had an immense passion for storytelling, and was always a source of humour and procrastination. Terry's family and friends will miss him more than words can say. They move forward with strength in their hearts. A private funeral will be held for the immediate family.

Peacefully passed away at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in her 94th year. She is reunited with her parents Gertrude and Leo Cartmell. Frances is survived by her children, Katharine, Tom, Mark and Joe, and grandchildren, Christopher, Bill, Jamie, Michael, Bobby, Branden, Ryan and Alyssa. Also survived by her sister Gladys Taylor. She was happiest when helping others and keeping busy. She took care of her parents for many years prior to their passing years ago. Helped with her grandchildren when needed. Always sharing and giving of herself throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. At her request, she has been cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Her ashes will be interned at Fonthill Cemetery.

Surrounded by the love of her family, Kay passed away on Monday, July 19th, 2021 at Linhaven Home, at 90 years of age. She is now reunited with her beloved husband John of 48 years. Loving mother of Stephen (the late Heather), Scott (Janet), Peter and Donald (Jackie), Cherished Oma of April, Katie, Laura, Chelsie, Nolan and Bryce, Sierra, Anna-Leigh, Jonathan and Olivia. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Anne and Margaret, her family and many friends. Kay was the president’s secretary of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary from 1978 to 1995. The family will receive friends at HAINE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Friday, July 23rd from 5 - 8 pm. It is with sadness that the family of Veronica (Vera) Strickland (Nee Tobin) announces her passing on July 11, 2021 at the age of 82 at St Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Vera was born in Newfoundland and lived in Dunnville, Ontario. She brought 10 beautiful children into this world and all of those surviving are kind, generous and successful in their own right. They have a strong bond and are working through this loss together. She is Pre-deceased by her parents (John and Louisa), husband (Andre), son (Cornelius), granddaughter (Pauline), sisters (Madonna & Josephine) and brothers (Cyril & Michael). Survived by her 9 children - Brenda Lundrigan, Gertrude Thorne (Lloyd - Deceased), Louisa Schrieder (Rob), Joseph Lundrigan, Veronica Malia, Lawrence Lundrigan, David Nash (Jeny), Francis Lundrigan (Leslie Ann), 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 siblings - John Tobin (Myrtle), Leonard Tobin (Patricia), Susan Takacs, Gertrude Picco (Phillip), Regina Kippenhuck (Jack) & Louisa Tobin. At Vera’s request, there will be no memorial service. Her ashes will be brought home to Newfoundland by her son Joseph Lundrigan once travel restrictions are lifted. James Plummer peacefully passed on Monday, June 28th, 2021 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 88. Predeceased by wife Vivian of 52 years in 2008. Loving father of Anne (Rick) Binning, David Plummer, Faye Plummer and Jill (Eric) Baloga. Dear grandfather of Stephen (Dani), Michael (fiancée Mary), Matthew (Larissa), Jared, Eilef and Gabriel and great-grandfather to Parker and Coen. Jim worked for Ontario Paper as a Mechanical Engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1996. Jim served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot where he met his wife Vivian. The family will receive friends at the HAINE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Saturday, August 7th from 12:00-2:00pm. "Never met a stranger, just a friend he hadn't met." After a brief illness in hospital, Hughie passed away on February 18th in his 90th year. Born in New Glasgow, Pictou County, Hugh and his wife Claire came to Ontario in 1960 to make a new life but in his heart he remained a proud Nova Scotian. Raised 3 daughters in Merritton (Janet, Ruth and Anne). Worked at Domtar Fine Paper serving as President of the office union for many years. Long-time member of Knox (St. Catharines) and then St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Thorold). Lived in his adopted hometown of Thorold for the past 20 years where he was a committed volunteer and participant in the Thorold Seniors Centre (2013 Senior of the Year). Self-taught baker: first of bread, then of lemon poppyseed cake generously shared with friends and family. Music lover, Ice Dogs fan and hugger par excellence. A gentle and kind man who loved people and made friends wherever he went all through his life. Hughie always had a twinkle in his eye and loved a good story. Beloved Grampie to Erin, Graeme and Garrett. Hugh will be lovingly missed by his wife Claire of 63 years, his daughters and their families. The family wishes to thank the many friends and neighbours who supported Hugh and Claire over the past few years and through his recent illness. We look forward to a time when we can celebrate Hughie's life with friends and family. Lucy Smith was called home in her 90th year on Monday, October 26th, 2020 after many years of battling cancer. A devoted grandmother, through her tribulations, the one thing that could always make her smile was pictures of her family. She is predeceased by her much loved grandson Grant Smith, brothers John, Joseph and Alfred Luciani, sisters Mary Macoretta and Ann Keighan and devoted partner Leo Sarafinchan. She is survived by her son, Richard (LeeAnn) Smith, grandson Fraser and precious granddaughters, Scarlett and Lara. Special friend of Robin Dowling. Heartfelt thanks to the ever-patient Dr. P. Pringle and the wonderful, caring staff at Extendicare. Cremation has taken place with private interment. Christopher (Oggie) suddenly and sadly left our lives on Tuesday evening at home from a heart attack. Born in St. Catharines, was raised and educated in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Chris will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Cassidy-Lynn (Chris), Father Douglas, his cherished Mom Teresa and step dad Jack Bell, his Uncle Drew, and Nana Phyllis Ostrander. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Jennie Egoroff, his paternal granddad John Ogilvie, and his Uncle Michael Egoroff. Chris was a highly skilled heavy machine operator, and a proud 30 year member with the International Union of Operating Engineers. His memory will be cherished always in the hearts of his friends and family. Please raise a glass to Chris. Cremation has taken place. A family burial graveside service will take place at a later date and a celebration of life to be announced. With broken hearts we announce the passing of Ruby Ann (Bittle) Pattison in her 91st year. She passed peacefully in her own home with her devoted daughters by her side after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Mom passed on August 28th, just 3 days after the 69th anniversary of her marriage to her loving husband, the late Jack (Patty) Pattison (2009). She was the cherished mother and best friend of Nancy (Jim) Nicol and Kim Wilson and the adored Nana of Jeff Nicol, Kevin (Daina) Nicol, Carly (Kyle) Charters and Connor and Cole Wilson. She was NanaNana to her beloved great grandchildren Hadley and Griffin Charters. Her legacy to her family was her selflessness and her immeasurable capacity for unconditional love. We will cherish these gifts always. Ruby will be greatly missed by her son-in-law Jim Nicol, brother Ted (Arlene) Bittle, sister Doris Perry and sisters-in-law Marjorie (late Jack) Armstrong and Ann (late Bud) Bittle. Aunt Ruby will be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Doris and Roy Bittle Sr., her mother and father-in-law Annie and Francis Pattison, her sisters Gladys May and Mary Jeffrey Foubert, brothers Roy (Bud) Bittle Jr. and Fred Bittle, her niece Lori (Perry) Galliera and her life long friend Helen Constant. Mom was well known for her hand written thank you notes acknowledging the generosity and kindness of others. On behalf of Mom and her family we want to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. D. Lagrotteria and Dr. P. Zuliani for their kind and gentle care over the years; to the healthcare workers who cared for her at the Welland Hospital; to her palliative care team for their considerate and respectful care and to the staff of Henderson's pharmacy. Special gratitude is extended to her nurses Jan and Sarah for their compassion and support.
